ATONAL EAR TRAINER - Advanced Ear Training Technique

"Atonal Ear Trainer" is a great training tool to help musicians and students to easily recognize the melodies that modulate frequently or even atonal melodies. With this app, you can practice in a fun way at anytime and anywhere.

Music is an art form of listening. Therefore, having a good ear is very essential to musicians. This is why ear training is included in all music educations. The traditional way to recognize music is to train ear based on a key center. Intervals, scales, melodies and chords are recognized in this way. In other words, to hear all these, you should find a key center first and then comparing all notes with the key center. However, once a complicated melody which changes keys quickly is encountered, the traditional training will not be sufficient.

"Atonal Ear Trainer" uses an advanced ear training technique which is developed from the traditional training. However, instead of finding a key center first, intervals between notes are focused. By mastering the sound of all intervals, one can quickly recognize the relations between two adjacent notes in a melody without knowing the key center. Simply speaking, this technique is to treat a melody as a composite of successive intervals. Therefore, even a most complicated melody can be recognized!

The app designer and developer Eric Chuang who graduated from Berklee College of Music with Summa Cum Laude is an well known Jazz guitarist in Asia. He(his band TFP) is awarded in Golden Melody Awards and Golden Indie Music Awards, and published several musical instructional DVDs, online courses and musical training apps.
"Atonal Ear Trainer" is made in “smart BASIC" programming language and is published using smart BASIC SDK for Xcode.
